Bursary Scheme
Introduction
At The Adults’ Wellness Centre, we believe that everyone deserves access to timely and appropriate assessment and support, regardless of financial circumstances.
We understand that many individuals or families face significant challenges accessing private assessments due to long NHS waiting lists, increasing demand for services, and financial hardship. Our Clinical Assessment & Therapy Bursary Scheme has been created to help support a limited number of individuals who may otherwise be unable to access essential support services.
The bursary scheme is intended for those experiencing genuine financial hardship and where there is clear evidence that an assessment is clinically appropriate and needed.
What the bursary may cover
Depending on availability and clinical suitability, bursary support may include:
• Full assessment funding
• Partial funding towards assessment costs
• Reduced-fee assessments
• A programme of counselling or CBT sessions
Please note that bursary awards are limited and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the bursary scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria.
Financial Eligibility
Applicants will usually:
• Be in receipt of a means-tested benefit, such as:
– Universal Credit

– income-based ESA or JSA
– Pension Credit

AND
• Have a net annual household income below £22,000 per year (excluding disability-related benefits such as DLA or PIP).

Priority may also be given to:
• Single-parent households

• Those affected by disability, chronic illness, or long-term health conditions

• Individuals experiencing significant social, financial, or occupational impact as a result of unmet clinical needs
• Individuals at risk of losing employment
• University students struggling academically
• Adults on long NHS waiting lists
• Young adults who have recently transitioned out of children’s services and are no longer eligible for CAMHS or paediatric NHS assessment pathways
